The Automation Control Specialist will work with IT / SCADA, field technicians and operations specialists in the design, maintenance and implementation of control and automation systems utilized in the Production, Operations, Processing of natural gas including NGL facilities. A qualified individual will also provide field level technical resources for automation, instrumentation, and control equipment including installation, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Program and validate PLC/EFM/RTU based control systems to ensure safe, and efficient execution of commands & Control as issued by the operator or interconnected control devices.
- Implement changes to field HMIs, control programs, and other automated components to support operational changes and improvements.
- Investigate failures and malfunctions to diagnose root cause of failure and make corrective actions.
- Recognize improvement opportunities with existing equipment and develop solutions with the ability to adapt to various engineering, applications, and process criteria.
- Maintain and diagnosis facility industrial communications networks utilizing a variety of communication protocols including but not limited to serial, Ethernet/IP, Modbus/TCP, HART, FieldBus and DeviceNet.
- Configure, test, and maintain Automated Control systems (Example: Bristol-Control Wave, Modicon-Unity Pro, Allen Bradley-ControlLogix, ABB, AutoExec) and other control platforms.
- Interface with other technical/engineering disciplines to ensure the effective integration of automation systems to optimize facility operations, safety, and environmental protections.
- Provide technical expertise in automation, instrument, and/or electrical specifications and standards as required.
- Provide oversight of system installation, lead commissioning efforts and troubleshooting support for automation / control system projects.
- Provide mentoring and leadership to facility Equipment & Controls technicians to staff development.
- Provide guidance and field support for capital projects teams as required ensuring company facilities are constructed and programmed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Scope, budget, and execute small capital projects involving automation of facility equipment including, but not limited to well pads, Injection wells, compressor packages / stations, process units, pumps, and other systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Technical or Associates degree in Industrial Automation or Process Controls is preferred.
- Will consider equivalent experience.
- At least six years of experience in the Industrial Automation field which demonstrates a knowledge of various industry protocols and standards for PLCs, SCADA systems Electrical Devices, field instrumentation, and other similar devices.
- Strong communication and project management skills.

- Relevant experience in industrial process automation and control equipment including and not limited to industrial control systems, SCADA systems, Electrical Devices, field instrumentation, and other similar devices.
- Proficient with the required software packages to interface with the various types of equipment utilized at processing and automation locations.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, piping & instrument drawings (P&IDs), flow charts and cause and effect diagrams.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and possession of analytical problem-solving skills to diagnosis and resolve complex technical matters.
- Able to proficiently utilize testing equipment including, but not limited to digital multi-meters, process meters, HART communicators, oscilloscopes, ohm meters, and signal generators.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, and other computer proficiency required.
- Ability to work safely in challenging environments, including, and not limited to high temperature, noise, dust, and other industrial / oilfield locations.
- Ability to execute job functions efficiently with minimal supervision and the ability to prioritize activities to meet company needs. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

- Must be able to move or traverse from one location on the job site to another. This includes the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, frequently positioning oneself (e.g., to stoop, kneel, or squat) to perform tasks, and occasionally ascend/descend (e.g., ladders or uneven terrain)
- Ability to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
- Ability to operate a 4X4 vehicle.
- Must be able to repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back. Constantly operates, uses, and positions hands and fingers in performance of work
- Must be able to work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights
- Lifts or carries 70 lbs. or more, which falls into the "heavy" category (over 50 pounds).
- Frequently pushes and pulls with a maximum force of 150 ft./lbs.
- Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions and is exposed to varying environmental conditions, including well site conditions. The position requires the ability to perform tasks in physically demanding environments, encompassing the essential physical requirements and efforts outline
