Are you in? Primary Purpose:

An entry-level to mid-level attorney responsible for providing full legal service to clients under the supervision of a managing or supervising attorney. Carries out legal assignments, including research and preparation of briefs, memoranda, and compliance filings. Performs non-routine legal assignments and assists with litigation of regulatory and administrative matters.

Primary Duties:

- Performs broad and moderately complex legal assignments that are varied

- Assists more experienced attorneys in representing Pepco Holdings’ operating companies in regulatory proceedings and/or relevant litigation

- Advises clients with respect to all legal matters

Responsible for developing an understanding of each assigned client’s business and business philosophy

- Prepare, and revise as necessary, budgets and early matter assessments for all matters involving outside counsel.

- Projects / duties as assigned

Job Scope:

- Supports more experienced attorneys in ongoing relationships and matters with Business Units and outside counsel

- Able to think strategically and work with Business Units to achieve Company objectives and manage risk

Minimum Qualifications:

- An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in one or both of the relevant jurisdictions of New Jersey and Delaware

- At least 4 years of professional experience in a specialized area of law

- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

- Requires excellent legal research, analytical abilities and on ongoing knowledge of federal and/or state law as required by the position

- Must have the ability to communicate clearly – both orally and in writing; to read and analyze legal materials and other data; to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in public utility state and/or federal regulation or the energy sector

- Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $128,800.00/Yr. – $177,100.00/Yr.
