WestLand is adding an Assistant Department Director/Senior Project Manager, Environmental to our Western Environmental team! This position will support WestLand's ecology and environmental resource program across the West. The successful candidate would ideally be in Utah or Idaho, however, candidates in any Western state will be considered and are encouraged to apply. Our environmental consulting practice specializes in environmental planning & permitting, natural resource planning & management, and facility compliance services! WestLand's environmental experts are well versed in city, state, and federal procedures and policies.
What will I be doing?
•Serving as a Senior Project Manager or technical expert on a variety of interesting and complex for our public and private sector clients.
•Providing leadership and guidance to team members through performance management including conducting performance reviews, identifying appropriate training, and implementing corrective action plans.
•Helping to identify staffing needs and assist with new employee evaluation and hiring processes.
•Developing and managing project scopes, schedule, and budget in alignment with contract terms and conditions.
•Providing support to Environmental Project Managers in developing and managing their projects.
•Developing and/or reviewing technical products to ensure they are accurate and of exemplary quality.
•Setting business development goals and providing recommendations on go/no-go assessments.
•Assisting in growing department revenue through business development and process efficiency.
What qualifications are required for this role?
•A bachelor's degree in natural resources, environmental science, or related field.
•Ten (10) or more years of experience working in an environmental or related discipline.
•Three (3) or more years working in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
•Experience working with complex projects in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner
•Experience with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404, Endangered Species Act (ESA), and other similar state and local environmental regulations a plus.
•Demonstrated ability to develop business relationships and generate new clients.
•Expertise in applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
•Expertise in managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
•Experience working within a consulting environment is strongly preferred.
The salary range for this position is $138,000 - $158,000 annually.
