Blackstone is a leading global alternative asset manager with $1 trillion of total assets under management. Kindle manages 8.7 GW of generation in Ohio, Indiana, Texas, and Louisiana, with a 700 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine project in Louisiana and a 164 MW Simple Cycle Combustion Turbine project in Colorado, both currently under construction.
Job Summary:
The Assistant Controller supports the financial operations of the organization by assisting in the preparation and review of financial statements, designing and implementing accounting
policies and procedures, ensuring a timely and quality month-end close process, adhering to debt compliance requirements, leading and supporting year end audits, and supporting the Controller in overseeing the accounting team.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
•Assist in the preparation and/or review of quarterly and annual financial statements.
•Supervise day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
•Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
•Lead the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
•Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
•Prepare and/or review month-end close account reconciliations
•Monitor and improve internal controls and financial reporting systems.
•Prepare and/or review technical accounting memos
•Liaise with third party valuation firms for purchase price valuations, asset retirement obligations and other valuations.
•Lead the integration and transition of new acquisitions or divestitures.
•Assist with sales and use tax compliance.
•Ensure vendor onboarding compliance
•Provide mentorship and support to junior accounting staff.
•Assist the Controller with special projects and financial analysis as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or related field
•Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, including as a direct supervisor of accounting professionals
•Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
•Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
•Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
•Audit experience working at a big 4 firm or mid-tier firm
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with ERP system implementations or upgrades

Working Conditions:
•Hybrid work schedule – Tuesday through Thursday in-office, Monday & Friday remote work
•>10% domestic travel is required
Position Pay Range:
•$140,000 - $175,000 total annual cash compensation including annual bonus
