Champion is seeking a qualified Asbestos Supervisor certified in the State of New Jersey to oversee asbestos abatement activities at commercial, residential, and/or industrial job sites. This position requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and attention to safety and compliance.
· Direct and supervise asbestos abatement crews on-site.
· Set up containment areas, decontamination units, and negative air systems.
· Ensure full compliance with OSHA, NJDOH, EPA (AHERA), and NJDEP regulations.
· Maintain detailed job site documentation, including daily logs and exposure records.
· Coordinate air monitoring and clearance sampling with certified professionals.
· Enforce proper PPE use, decontamination procedures, and safety practices.
· Interface with clients, inspectors, and other contractors as needed.
· Halt operations immediately in the event of unsafe practices or exposure risks.
· Assisting in training and mentoring asbestos workers and new hires.
To be successful, the ideal candidate should bring most of the following experiences and attributes to the role.
· Must possess a valid New Jersey Asbestos Supervisor Permit.
· Minimum 2+ years of asbestos field experience, preferably as a supervisor.
· Solid understanding of N.J.A.C. 12:120 and N.J.A.C. 8:60, OSHA 1926.1101, and applicable EPA rules.
· Experience with mold, lead, or universal waste removal.
