The Area Production Manager will direct and manage aggregate operations for assigned facilities with overall responsibility for safety, environmental compliance, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities. The position ensures adherence to company policies and all applicable regulations for safe, environmentally sound production of a quality product.
In partnership with Environmental and Safety teams, this role leads operations to maintain high performance in safety, environmental stewardship, community engagement, and production efficiency. The Area Production Manager provides leadership to drive operational excellence, manage capital and maintenance projects, and develop high-performing teams through training, coaching, and mentoring. The Area Production Manager will oversee multiple aggregate sites, working closely with the sales team to balance customer demand and production capabilities, managing budgets, and continuously improving safety, productivity, and quality outcomes.

- Oversees site operations to achieve efficiency, quality, and cost-effective management of people, plants, and equipment.
- Partners with District Sales and Quality Control teams to meet customer demand, ensure product quality, and minimize waste.
- Develops training, coaching, and mentoring programs to build internal capability and support employee career growth.
- Manages maintenance programs and capital projects to optimize cost, ensure plant reliability, and achieve budget targets.
- Collaborates with leadership and finance teams to develop and manage capital budgets and evaluate long-term plant needs.
- Leads process improvement and cost reduction initiatives across production operations.
- Supports and models a strong safety culture, promoting peer-to-peer learning and continuous improvement in safety behavior.
- Ensures alignment with labor agreements and participates in union negotiations when applicable.
- Maintains strong working relationships with community partners, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborates with district manager and mine planning staff to develop short term and long - term mining plans.Bachelor's degreein engineering such as Mining, Civil, or Mechanical or equivalent experience.
10+ years related experience of progressively responsible production or operations management experience over multiple facilities, including at least 7 years of supervisory or management experience in an aggregate or heavy industrial environment. Experience in capital project management and financial planning preferred.

The base range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000; exclusive benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
