Electrician – Plant Watson

- Position will be located at the Plant Watson

- Position will be covered by the Memorandum of Agreement between Mississippi Power and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers

Job Requirements

Maintenance electrical instrument & control experience preferred. The position will be filled up to Journeyman Level.

Job Knowledge

- Intermediate or Advanced electrical aptitude required.

- A two-year technical certification, associate’s degree in electronics or equivalent experience preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Journeyman power plant electrician preferred.

- Experience using hand tools, electrical meters, and calibrators.

- Advanced knowledge of motors, controllers, switchgear, relays, transformers, generators, and AC/DC systems.

- Experience in electronics, instrumentation, program configuration, distributed/process control systems, PLC's, DCS, and plant electrical is preferred.

- Understanding of power plant systems preferred.

- Must have the ability to analyze electrical/electronic circuits, perform electrical/electronic testing and calibration, work in confined spaces.

- Must be able to troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
