We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to support our Corporate Safety Department. This role plays a vital part in ensuring safety training, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance across our facilities.
The Administrative Assistant will perform a variety of administrative tasks to support safety initiatives, training programs, and environmental compliance. This position serves as an employee advocate and contributes to continuous improvement in workplace safety and health standards.
- Provide administrative support to the Corporate Safety Department, including document management, interdepartmental coordination, and scheduling of safety-related tasks and training.
- Maintain safety training records and assist with hands-on training and orientation for topics such as forklift safety, NFPA 70E, PPE, and emergency response.
- Manage safety equipment (e.g., gas meters, sound monitors) ensuring calibration, certification, and proper usage.
- Support safety initiatives like Safety Blitz Week, Safety Committees, and contractor/vendor compliance through insurance tracking and orientation.
- Maintain safety infrastructure including First Aid stations, AEDs, SDS inventories, company maps, and environmental compliance databases.
- Monitor supply inventory across locations and assist in ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of safety documentation and procedures.
- Knowledge of general safety practices and ability to interpret local, state, and federal regulations.
- Experience in a safety-related field or in supporting safety initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge of computer software, including Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
