Description:
The Accounts Payable Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, managing vendor relationships, supervising staff, and maintaining financial records, all while adhering to accounting policies and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Supervise and train accounts payable staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
•Manage workloads and ensure efficient operations within the accounts payable department.
•Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise in the accounts payable process.
•Review invoices for accuracy and completeness.
•Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices.
•Manage and reconcile accounts payable accounts.
•Process and reconcile payments, including electronic transfers and check runs.
•Maintain and manage vendor relationships, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
•Ensure compliance with vendor terms and conditions.
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records related to accounts payable.
•Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports for management.
•Assist with month-end and year-end activities close.
•Develop and implement accounts payable policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
•Ensure adherence to accounting standards and relevant regulations
•Monitor and maintain effective internal controls over accounts payable functions to mitigate risks of fraud and errors.

Requirements:
•Working knowledge of general accounting procedures
•IT literacy, including knowledge of relevant accounting software, such as Sage and ERP systems
•Strong organizational skills, as they typically handle high volumes of invoices
•Excellent communication skills, including the ability to actively listen to others and relay information clearly
•The ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and creditors
•The ability to work well in a team and collaborate with others
