MTM is looking for a dynamic candidate that has a passion for manufacturing to fill the role of an Accounts Payable Specialist. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for working with our Accounting Manager to handle and process all accounts payable tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your role will ensure the timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices, maintain financial records, and support the overall financial operations of the company.
POSITIONS DUTIES:
•Perform day-to-day financial transactions, verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable transactions.
•Monitor tax on AP invoices and assess use tax when necessary. Reconcile monthly accrued use tax liability.
•Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
•Understand GL expense accounts to ensure proper posting into General Ledger.
•Follow-up with suppliers regarding discrepancies with invoices and work with internal operations staff to resolve billing errors.
•Establish new vendor accounts in the ERP system and ensure all tax compliance paperwork is received. (e.g., W-9s, sales tax, certificates of insurance)
•Track company credit card spending and reconcile to monthly statement.
•Work with the Quality Department to process debit memos for returned product from suppliers.
•Analyze surcharge and packing expense for pass-thru charge back to customers.
•Process weekly check runs.
•Maintain documentation for yearly financial audits and compliance.
•Reconcile weekly PT Solutions
•Process yearly 1099’s to be issued to suppliers.
•Perform special analyses and other projects as directed.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
•Associate’s degree in Accounting combined with minimum of 2 years of accounting experience is preferred.
•Accuracy – Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
