The primary function is to coordinate and administer the accounts payable classification. Perform other functions that may include various accounting tasks.
- Bend and do repetitious motions with arms and hands
- Sit for long periods of time
- Simultaneously handle numerous jobs and work under pressure
- Required and predictable attendance
- Two to four years’ experience or combined education and experience preferred
- Able to read, write and communicate clearly for documentation and customer relations
- Proficient in verbal and written communication for record keeping and interaction with customers
- Intermediate Accounting knowledge – previous bookkeeping experience is a plus
- Able to use ten-key calculator, with some experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other similar software
- Know and follow all company safety procedures and policies
- File numerically and alphabetically
- Maintain invoices/vendor statement daily and process
- Select and enter invoices to be paid weekly
- Maintain all payable files and computer reports
- Prepare and mail out weekly check runs/ACH payments
- Provide prior invoices to be accrued assisting with month end closing
- Resolve vendor questions, problems and requests
- Work closely with the Accounts Payable Supervisor
- Prepare monthly sales tax returns
- Prepare quarterly fuel refund returns
- Process outgoing wires when required
- Perform any other assigned work incidental to this classification
