The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both managing and mentoring a small accounting team while remaining hands-on
with transactional accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. The Accounting Manager will collaborate with ownership, operations, and external accountants to maintain financial accuracy, ensure compliance with GAAP, and support strategic business decisions.
Compensation $70K-$110K DOE. | Bonus potential available
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Perform and review account reconciliations (bank, AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets, etc.)
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data entry and journal postings
- Maintain general ledger integrity and month-end close procedures
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Support external accountants with annual reviews or audits
- Assist and train 2–3 accounting staff members handling AR, AP, and payroll
- Establish clear procedures and quality standards for transactional processing
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to ensure team efficiency and accuracy
- Ensure GAAP compliance and proper internal controls
- Support tax preparation and filings by maintaining accurate supporting schedules
- Coordinate with external auditors, bankers, and insurance partners as needed
- Manage and improve accounting systems and workflows (NetSuite or QuickBooks)
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and automate recurring tasks
- Maintain documentation of accounting policies and procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Master’s in Accounting (MAcc) or MBA preferred- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 1–2 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in a small to mid-sized manufacturing or construction company preferred
- Strong knowledge of full accounting cycle and GAAP
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop/Online or NetSuite
- Paycom experience for payroll
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
