We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager II to lead our accounting team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial reporting. This role offers the opportunity to oversee accounting operations, enhance internal controls, and collaborate with multiple departments to support the company's strategic objectives. Why this Role is Important:
The Accounting Manager II is integral to the organization's financial health, ensuring accurate reporting, operational support, risk management, and collaborative efforts across various departments.
- Oversee the daily activities of the accounting department.
- Supervise Accounts Payable, including processing and posting payments.
- Manage bank account activity for multiple entities.
- Evaluate, develop, and improve department controls.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless business operations.
- Hire, train, and motivate accounting staff.
- Enter monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Review and process insurance-related information as needed.
- Perform other duties and assist in special projects as necessary.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- High level of independent work ethic and integrity.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Accounting knowledge of US GAAP.
- Ability to work with multiple entities within an organization.
- Experience with proper procedures for month-end cut-off transactions and reconciliation of subledgers to the General Ledger.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required; NetSuite experience preferred.
Location: Shelton, CT – Hybrid Schedule (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on-site)
