Performs a variety of general accounting and accurately prepares and maintains accounting records. Responsible for keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with employee expense reports, match receipts, and credit card reconciliation
- Understands basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Reconcile department accounts and bank statements monthly
- Prepare bank deposits
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, which can be data driven
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Ensures confidentiality within all areas of responsibility
- Other duties as assigned
- Employee works under general supervision
- Employee has little or no decision-making responsibility
- The employee has little or no impact on the decisions of others
- This position does not supervise other employees
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
- One (1) to Three (3) years of accounting
- Excellent problem solving, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills required
- Outstanding communication and administrative abilities
- Exceptional organization and time management skills
- Must be accurate, detail oriented, able to multi-task and to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to meet all assigned deadlines
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office products (Excel & Word)
- Intermediate knowledge of QuickBooks (Online preferred) or other accounting software
- Maintains confidentiality at all times

We currently manage the power supplies of over twenty municipal electric systems serving more than 1100 MW of electric load and more than 550 MW of generation in all six New England states. We advise on and/or conduct more than one billion kilowatt hours in wholesale power transactions and 100-150 million kilowatt hours in retail transactions annually. We also manage up to 250,000 therms of natural gas per day within our customers’ portfolios, as well as up to 5,000 barrels per day of fuel oil.
