Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accountant/Office Manager, based in Hiawatha, IA. This position requires a versatile professional who can manage a wide range of accounting, office administration, and HR responsibilities while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in leveraging technology—including our ERP system, Global Shop—to streamline processes and provide meaningful insights. Advanced proficiency in Excel (data analysis, reporting, data mining) and Word is essential.

Responsibilities

- Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations

- Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end and year-end close

- Utilize Global Shop ERP system to manage data, reporting, and workflow efficiency

- Conduct data mining and analysis in Excel to support business decision-making

- Manage payroll, employee records, and HR documentation

- Administer office operations, including vendor management, purchasing, and general administrative tasks

- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations, as needed

- Support leadership with special projects and reporting needs

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes.

- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide training, as needed

- Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

- Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting roles

- Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis

- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, PeopleSoft)

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
