We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Accountant – 24 Month Contract. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL. This position will require candidates to work a Monday-Friday schedule.
- General ledger entries and accruals, balance sheet entries and reconciliations, and preparation of timely and accurate internal reports in accordance with IFRS.
- Analyzing financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare and maintain financial records.
- Develop and or improve on current financial and management reporting and controls.
- Support the annual financial audit by providing all requested information to facilitate audit completion.
- Other duties include government and stakeholder reporting, consumption tax reporting, monthly and quarterly Statistics Canada surveys, and supporting other departments with ad-hoc reporting or analysis as required.
- Exercise due diligence and adherence to all internal procedures.
- Safeguard confidential information regarding all company affairs.
- Post-secondary education in Finance/Accounting. CPA designation, or working toward completion of the CPA program, is an asset.
- Strong ERP systems skills including accounting, reporting, and excel.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and well organized.
