We are seeking an experienced and driven Technical Sales professional to manage and grow a key account portfolio in the Canadian market. This hybrid role combines strategic outside sales engagement with proactive inside sales management. You will be the vital link between our customers and our internal operations, leveraging your technical knowledge to provide solutions and drive growth.
* Promote OSS Metals and its specialty product lines throughout Canada, with a primary focus on Alberta.
* Proactively detect and analyze market opportunities to develop new business and expand existing accounts.
* Conduct outside sales visits to build relationships, understand complex customer needs, and provide technical sales support.
* Manage day-to-day account activities via inside sales: processing inquiries, providing quotes, and ensuring superior customer service.
* Coordinate closely with the Supply Chain team regarding inventory levels, considering market trends and mill lead times to ensure product availability.
* Act as the main point of contact for customers, understanding their technical and commercial needs, and communicating them effectively internally.
* Commit to answering all customer inquiries the same day, especially for products in stock or on order.
* Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in technical sales within the steel/oil and gas industry.
* Strong technical knowledge of steel tubing and bar products, applications, and manufacturing processes.
* Established network and familiarity with the Canadian, particularly Alberta, industrial market.
* Demonstrated success in a hybrid inside/outside sales role, managing a territory and hitting growth targets.
* Self-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit suited to a fast-growing organization.
* Proficiency with CRM systems and standard office software.
