As we prepare to celebrate 150 years of manufacturing excellence, we are seeking a 2nd Shift leader to drive success in our Finishing and Machining Department.
The Opportunity
As a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM), you will lead a dedicated team of 15–20. This is an exempt leadership role with a salary range of $70,000–$85,000, offering the opportunity to master new technologies and mentor the next generation of manufacturing talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Culture of Safety: Actively promote and ensure a "Safety First" environment, ensuring all team members return home safely every day.
- People Leadership: Plan, direct, and coach your team. You will be responsible for hiring, performance management, and fostering an engaged, productive workforce.
- Training & Development: Provide consistent training for new hires and ongoing refresher training using established SOPs and SME collaboration.
- Operational Excellence: Develop and execute production plans to optimize equipment and workflow. Lead troubleshooting efforts and investigate equipment failures to minimize downtime.
- Process Improvement: Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize setup times, changeovers, and operational cycles.
- Quality & Maintenance: Ensure all work meets our rigorous quality standards and coordinate with the maintenance team to keep equipment in peak condition.
- Experience: 3-5 years in manufacturing/production operations with a solid grasp of Lean Manufacturing.
- Leadership Pulse: At least 2 years of experience leading crews. We value leaders who can resolve issues professionally and sustain positive change.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand complex machining processes.
- Soft Skills: A professional approach to resolving employee issues, a high degree of Emotional Intelligence, and the ability to lead and sustain change.
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment assessment, physical, drug screen, and background check.
- Ability to meet physical demands (standing/walking on the production floor) in a foundry/machining environment.
