Cameco’s finance department is looking for a highly skilled and motivated manager, financial reporting. Reporting to the assistant controller, you will play a key role in supporting Cameco’s external reporting. This position is responsible for leading the preparation and consolidation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and providing technical accounting analysis to support financial reporting. You will also mentor members of the finance team and collaborate closely with cross-functional groups.
In this role, you will:
•Oversee the preparation of the company’s consolidated financial statements and related regulatory filings.
•Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and assist in the preparation of the quarterly management’s discussion and analysis.
•Manage and review financial reporting activities including supporting working papers, journal entries and complex accounting assessments.
•Develop, maintain and improve documentation and procedures for the financial reporting process
•Build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of ongoing business issues.
•Ensure compliance with internal controls.
•Monitor changes in international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and lead the change impacts to Cameco, ensuring compliance with these requirements.
•Lead and support on-going continuous improvement initiatives and projects, including the proactive identification and development of efficient, value-added processes.
Required:
•Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, finance or a related field
•A minimum of 10 years of experience in financial reporting
•Experience in a large multi-national enterprise
•Canadian Professional Accounting designation (CPA)
•Excellent technical knowledge of IFRS, experience with consolidations, joint ventures and acquisitions
•Experience in researching and assessing complex accounting transactions
