Reporting into the Corporate Controller, the Financial Reporting Manager is primarily accountable for the management and preparation of the company’s external reporting requirements with the TSXV, as well as the general oversight and preparation of the corporate monthly internal management reporting, with support from the corporate accounting team.
Location of Position: The position will be based in Vancouver.

Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
•Prepare and manage the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and MD&A in accordance with IFRS, including the review of the consolidation, preparation of supporting working papers, creation of accounting memorandums, the preparation of other required regulatory filings, and working with our Tax Consultant on the preparation of the required tax provisions. Monthly consolidations and preparation of associated working papers will need to occur to ensure AISC can be calculated on a monthly basis.
•Assist in preparation of other continuous disclosure documents (Annual Information Form and Information Circular)
•Maintain a quarterly and yearly reporting schedule to provide visibility in timelines and accountability in the financial reporting process
•Research new IFRS accounting pronouncements, including accounting policy development and implementation throughout the company. Liaise with the site Finance Department as needed to ensure complex financial reporting matters are well- understood
•Oversee preparation of annual tax returns (e.g., T2) and review other tax returns (e.g., GST and ESTMA) prepared by other accounting staff
•Coordinate with the company’s external auditors, tax advisors, and various other service providers and respond to CRA inquiries and audits
•Maintaining our corporate capitalization schedules and long-term incentive data
Full-Cycle Accounting
•Maintain oversight and preparation of monthly corporate financial reporting including the budget-to-actual variance analyses
•Relentlessly pursue continuous improvement in the timeline and quality of the reporting package after a monthly “debrief” of opportunities of improvement with the rest of the team
•Ensure all transactions are managed in accordance with the company’s defined governance policies and procedures
•Review and approve journal entries for coding and consistency with IFRS and the company’s budget
•Review accounting working papers prepared by accounting staff
•Provide support and guidance to accounting staff while demonstrating leadership
Other
•May involve support for two affiliated public companies
•Assist with the corporate budgeting and forecasting processes
•Assist with the standardization of working papers across the company
•Monitor accounting systems, policies and procedures, and internal control environment and documentation for the company
•Other projects as directed from time to time based on business needs
Qualifications:
•University degree in accounting and an accounting designation (CPA).
•Big Four experience, preferably at the manager level.
•Minimum 5 years of progressive experience, with some experience in a managing role.
•Prior experience working in a publicly listed company and strong background in Canadian corporate reporting is considered a strong asset.
•Prior mining experience or work with heavy industrial operations considered an asset.
•Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
•Excellent oral and written English communication skills and a strong attention to detail.
•Ability to digest complex business issues and clearly articulate key messages to target audiences.
•Excellent organization and time management skills, critical thinking and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet both internal and external deadlines.
