PAY: $17/hr

SUMMARY: Our Yard Hand is responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations within our retail shop/ store and steel yard.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist in loading and unloading material from machines.

- Assist operators and drivers in the retail shop/ store and yard.

- Handle and transport materials and equipment within the facility.

- Use power tools and machinery when needed.

- Set out or put away tools when needed.

- Clean up store and yard free of debris, dirt, and hazardous material.

- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks.

- Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

- Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player.

- Ability for cross training in other areas of the shop.

- Follow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.

- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.

- Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.

- Occasional exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather).

- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
