We are seeking a highly skilled Working Superintendent – Earthwork & Utilities to lead and supervise field operations on civil construction projects. This is a hands-on role requiring both field supervision and direct labor, ensuring that all aspects of earthwork and utility installation are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
•Supervise and participate in the day-to-day operations of earthwork and underground utility crews.
•Read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, and specifications.
•Ensure site safety compliance and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
•Coordinate work with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors.
•Operate heavy equipment as needed, including excavators, loaders, dozers, etc.
•Plan and schedule work activities, manpower, and equipment for optimal productivity.
•Monitor project progress and quality, resolving any field issues as they arise.
•Conduct daily jobsite meetings and safety briefings.
•Ensure proper installation of storm, sewer, water, and other utility systems.
•Maintain accurate records of jobsite activities, labor, equipment, and materials.
Qualifications:
•Minimum 5 years of experience in earthwork and utility installation, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
•Strong working knowledge of civil construction methods, equipment, and safety regulations.
•Ability to read and interpret construction plans and utility layouts.
•Competency operating heavy equipment.
•Excellent communication and leadership skills.
•OSHA 30 certification preferred.
•Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
•Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
•Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
