Key Responsibilities
Hudgins Contracting Corp has an immediate opening for a Utility Superintendent to oversee our pipe operations including underground Sanitary Sewer, Water, and Storm. The primary function of this position is to provide overall on-site administrative and technical management of multiple utility crews.
Responsibilities include:
•Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Monitor progress for project scheduling and financial goals.
•Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions such as ordering and scheduling material, and to control/provide day-to-day direction of on-site staff.
•Communicate performance expectations for production, quality, and safety to crews.
•Review Job Cost with Project Manager.
•Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
•Direct and/or approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.
•Provide technical assistance (i.e. interpretation of drawings) and make recommendations for construction methods, manpower and equipment as required.
•Assist in development and implementation of project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
•Ensure on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. and document all violations, notify proper personnel, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
•Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials / equipment and contractual performance on the project.
•Perform additional assignments per Supervisor’s direction.
Job Requirements
•Technical proficiency in underground utilities
•Full understanding of plan details and specifications
•Excellent communication and coordination skills to effectively manage expectations
•Must be able to obtain badges for NN Shipyard and a DBID badge for all area military bases
•Must have a current Virginia Driver License and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record to be able to operate a company vehicle
•Must have or be able to obtain OSHA-30 Certification (HCC will cover the cost)
