Job Title: Welder's Helper Department: Welding

Reports to: Plant Manager Effective Date: 8/4/2025

Job Summary:

The Welder's Helper primarily assist welders in the fabrication of metal structures. They support skilled welders by performing tasks that require less expertise but are key to the successful completion of welding projects.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Cutting and grinding materials to size.

- Loading and unloading materials from trucks, moving heavy metal pieces around the worksite.

- Measuring and calculating the dimensions of the materials for accurate cuts.

- Ensure a safe work environment.

- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Basic math skill is required.

- knowledge of how to read a tape measure accurately is required.

- Ability to clearly speak, write, read and understand the English language.

- MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.

- HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.

- VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner.

- LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
