Mariner Forge Enterprises established in 1990 is a custom Fabrication shop that’s been serving the Halifax Regional Municipal area for over 25 years. We provide a wide range of services such as water jet cutting, plasma profile cutting, fabrication, welding and machining of all metals. We have built our reputation by providing high-end attention to details with an emphasis on communication, consistency and quality.
We are currently looking for an experienced Welder that can read engineering drawings to assess the materials needed and to create the templates that correspond with the required metal cuts and carry out welding/fabrication tasks to a high standard as required
- Weld components and framework using a variety of welding processes, Mig, Tig gas & fluxcore of Steel, Aluminum and Stainless Steel. Tig welding will be 80% of daily duties
- Analyze engineering drawings to assess materials needed
- Lay out, measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on sheet metal according to drawings or templates
- Operate machine and hand tools such as brake press, shears, band saws, grinder, drill or punch, torches, plasma cutters, measure tools and gauges
- Fabrication of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum components as required, ensuring that the highest standards in finish and tolerances, in accordance with information supplied.
- Grind, sand, polish and detail fabrications to required finish
- Quality check completed work to verify conformance to customer specifications
- Ensure that safety policies, housekeeping rules and guidelines, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed
- Technical diploma in welding or metal fabrication; red seal considered an asset
- 5+ years’ experience in Welding MIG, TIG, GAS & Fluxcore of mild steel, stainless steel & aluminum. (Tig of all materials is a must have)- Punctuality & excellent attendance is necessary
- Ability to take job from start to finish

- Ability to read weld symbols
- CWB certification would be an asset
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Be a team player, working effectively with peers, sub-contractor and customers

- Ability to solve problems
- Ability to track your time and materials on jobs & fill out forms accurately
