The Structural Steel Welder is responsible for fitting, welding, and assembling structural steel components using flux-core welding processes in accordance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards. This position is essential in producing high-quality steel assemblies for EZARC's fabrication operations.
- Perform flux-core (FCAW) welding on structural steel per project drawings and weld symbols.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings accurately.
- Fit, align, and secure parts using clamps, jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools.
- Inspect completed welds for quality and conformance to specifications.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to handle materials and assemblies.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workspace in clean, safe condition.
- Follow all company safety policies and participate in required pre-task planning and safety meetings.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, fitters, and other team members to ensure quality and production goals are met.
- Report any material defects, drawing discrepancies, or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in flux-core welding of structural steel preferred.
- Ability to certify a 3G test using 3/8 Plate and 1/16 wire.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
- Certification to AWS D1.1 standards preferred.
- Knowledge of safe rigging and material handling.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Shift Schedule: 4:30 PM to 2:30 AM; Paid Lunch; $1.50 Shift Differential
