Welder

Perform fabrication, maintenance and repair of rig structural components as directed. Implement and uphold safety and environmental compliance requirements. Perform general housekeeping duties and material preservation of the welding area and all associated equipment. Assists with routine maintenance and repair of rig equipment and structural components to meet operational requirements as directed.

- High school diploma or equivalent; recognized trade qualification from technical college/apprenticeship preferred. - 3+ years of experience as a Welder/Fitter.

- Hold or be able to obtain ABS 6G Certification or equivalent.

- Completion of all training and certification requirements for the position within designated time period.

Essential Functions

- Carry out welding, cutting, burning and associated activities as directed.

- Ensure safe and efficient operations on equipment.

- Ensure that incomplete repairs and projects are finished within their scheduled time of completion in order to keep the backlog of work to a minimum.

- Assist team in maintenance of equipment as required.

- Ensure the welder’s table and area are kept clean and all equipment is properly stowed.

- Check, service and maintain welding equipment and ensure it is in safe working condition.

- Report all items that are in need of repair or to be built to the Rig Manager, Rig Maintenance Supervisor or Barge Engineer.

- Coordinate daily work schedules with supervisors and establish priorities.

- Coordinate the ordering of welding equipment and supplies with supervisors to ensure no lost time due to shortages.

- Report complete details of all work performed for third parties to the Rig Manager, Rig Maintenance Supervisor or Barge Engineer to ensure proper charges.

- Maintain clean and safe work areas and ensure all oxygen and acetylene bottles are secured on deck at all times.

- Instruct helpers in the proper use of tools and safety equipment and procedures.

- Maintain good two-way communication with crew members.

- Participate in the development of newly appointed team members.

- Coordinate all work with rig supervisors.

- Other duties as assigned.

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL

- Implement and uphold Noble's safety policies and procedures.

- Ensure that all operations proceed in a safe manner. Correct and notify responsible parties of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist.

- Encourage and motivate personnel to observe safety and environmental policies and all intended and implied requirements of Noble's Management System.

- Responsible for familiarizing and adhering to Noble's Live Safe Code for the purpose of promoting a zero-incident and no-harm workplace.

- Responsible for familiarizing and utilizing Noble's Hazard Identification Tool to manage risk created by various energy sources found in the workplace.

- Attend and actively participate in daily pre-tour and weekly safety meetings.

- Ensure compliance with the requirements established in Noble's Management System.

- Initiate a safety stand down whenever an unplanned hazard or change in the expected results is observed.

- Perform all Safety Critical Tasks as detailed in the HSE Case.

- Incorporate the STOP the job planning process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team.

- Take the initiative to perform emergency duties without specific orders or instruction.

- Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis and prepare hazard assessments as required.

- Responsible for compliance with all government regulations.
