Welder I

POSITION SUMMARY

Welder 1 is responsible for performing basic welding tasks under direct supervision. This role is ideal for those with foundational welding knowledge and a willingness to learn advanced techniques. The Welder 1 will assist in welding projects, focusing on quality and safety, while learning to interpret welding blueprints and other technical documentation.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform basic MIG and TIG welding on assigned materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, and ductile iron).

- Assist senior welders with preparation and fitting workpieces.

- Follow established procedures and specifications to produce quality welds.

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

- Adhere to all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- High school diploma or GED required.

- Certification in basic welding techniques or equivalent on-the-job training.

- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.

- Strong willingness to learn and improve.

PREFERRED SKILLS

- Basic understanding of MIG/TIG welding.

- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Basic problem-solving and time-management skills.

- Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, or overtime when needed

Physical

- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).

- Comfortable working in a loud, industrial environment with protective gear.
