Water and Wastewater Field Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Water Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment and wastewater treatment systems. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with various types of equipment in a dynamic environment. The Water Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of water systems while adhering to all regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

- Operate and maintain water treatment and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems.

- Conduct data collection and analysis to monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.

- Repair and troubleshoot equipment as needed, demonstrating strong mechanical knowledge.

- Operate heavy equipment safely, including tankers, during various tasks related to water management.

- Assist in construction projects related to water infrastructure, ensuring adherence to project specifications.

- Utilize basic math skills for calculations related to chemical dosing and flow rates.

- Engage in heavy lifting as required for equipment installation or repair tasks.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation of all water systems.

Skills

- Proficiency in operating programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems is highly desirable.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair and maintenance.

- Familiarity with water treatment processes and wastewater treatment operations is essential.

- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively.

- Basic math skills for performing calculations related to job functions.

- Excellent analytical skills for data collection and performance analysis.

- Experience in plumbing is a plus, contributing to overall system maintenance capabilities.
