What You’ll Do:

As a Wastewater Treatment Operator, you will:

- Operate, monitor, and maintain water and wastewater treatment systems and related infrastructure

- Conduct sampling and testing in compliance with permits and regulatory requirements

- Use SCADA and other digital systems for monitoring and process control

- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on treatment facility equipment

- Adjust chemical dosing and treatment processes to maintain water quality standards

- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports

- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines

- Assist in investigating contaminants or hazardous material concerns in the systems

- Interact with customers, neighbors, and the public regarding inquiries or emergencies

- Participate in On-call rotation

What We’re Looking For:

- Education & Experience: Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; OR a minimum of four years of relevant experience in the water/wastewater industry

- Certifications: Valid PA driver’s license required. Class A and E wastewater certifications and drinking water Class A and E certifications with applicable subclasses preferred—but we’ll train the right candidate

- Skills: Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

- Additional Requirements: Ability to obtain federal security and medical clearances for work at certain facilities

Physical Requirements:

This is a physically active role. You must be able to:

- Safely operate a company vehicle and travel for extended distances as needed

- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

- Frequently walk, stand, sit, bend, crouch, and climb during daily operations

- Remain calm and dependable under pressure, especially during emergency response situations
