Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Trainee

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wastewater Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards. This role requires a strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, mechanical systems, and data collection techniques.

Duties

- Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment and systems, including pumps, valves, and chemical feeders.

- Perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment as required for facility maintenance and repairs.

- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.

- Collect data on water quality parameters and analyze results to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

- Utilize distributed control systems to monitor treatment processes and make necessary adjustments.

- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance on machinery.

- Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and compliance reports.

- Collaborate with team members to implement best practices in wastewater treatment operations.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in wastewater treatment or a related field is preferred.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.

- Familiarity with water treatment processes and regulations is highly desirable.

- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.

- Experience in data collection and analysis related to water quality monitoring.

- Must be able to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- A valid driver's license may be required for transportation between facilities.
