The VP of Accounting, Tax and Treasury will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, tax and cash management functions, as well as ensuring compliance with banking and debt requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, private equity, and/or financial auditing, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
1. Manage all third party providers for accounting support, audit, and tax.
2. Manage banking relationships and cash positions for the company. Approve weekly AP/AR activities, maintain and update cash flow budgets, and oversee reporting and compliance with any financial covenants.
3. Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements.
Ensure that all financial filing deadlines are met.
4. Ensure that all tax filing deadlines are met, and all federal and state income tax, property tax, and sales and use tax requirements are fulfilled with proper tax efficiency.
5. Ensure that all debt compliance and lender required reporting deadlines are met.
6. Coordinate the completion of the external audit process, including oversight of independent auditor.
7. Ensure and oversee an effective internal control environment and supporting accounting policies are in place in accordance with GAAP to safeguard the assets and operations of the company.
8. Research, interpret, document, and implement accounting guidance associated with various accounting issues.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
10. Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline financial operations and enhance efficiency.
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA required.
1. Master’s degree (MA, MS, MBA) preferred.
2. Renewables and or distributed generation experience preferred.
3. 10+ years of progressiveexperience in public accounting, corporate accounting, and/or financial management roles
.
4. Experience managing outsourced resources and providers.
5. Experience with privately owned companies (private equity, family office, employee-owned, etc.)
6. Fluency with US tax incentives and tax equity.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
8. Excellent organizational skills, analytical skills and strategic capabilities.
9. Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.
