Hubbell is seeking a transformative logistics leader to define and lead our global end‑to‑end logistics strategy, spanning inbound supply, outbound distribution, reverse logistics, and next‑generation logistics technologies. This highly visible role reports to the VP, Global Operations and plays a critical role in enabling operational excellence across a complex, multinational network.

As VP of Logistics, you will shape the future‑state global logistics network, drive cost‑effective transformation, and lead multi‑regional teams delivering best‑in‑class service, safety, and flow. You’ll partner closely with operations, IT, procurement, commercial teams, and external partners to scale innovation across transportation, warehousing, fulfillment, and automation.

Hiring location focus: Asheville, NC; Chicago, IL; and Columbia, MO.

A Day In The Life

Global Logistics Strategy & Leadership

- Define, own, and continually optimize the end to end global logistics solutions portfolio—including warehouse management, transportation, freight optimization, 3PL/4PL partnerships, cross docking operations, RFID, supplier interfaces, and next generation logistics technologies—to support scalable, integrated supply chain performance.

- Design the future state global logistics network that supports long term enterprise strategy, applying best in class warehouse management and network distribution design principles to ensure optimal flow-through, network agility, and risk balanced global distribution capabilities.

- Lead and develop multi regional logistics teams operating across complex, multinational environments, fostering cross regional alignment, standardized processes, and world class execution discipline

Operational Execution & Optimization

- Oversee end to end product movement including inbound supply, outbound distribution, reverse logistics, transportation management, and order fulfillment, ensuring reliability, velocity, and cost efficiency in alignment with company driven service expectations.

- Improve operational KPIs such as OTD (On Time Delivery), OTIF (On Time In Full), lead time compression, backlog reduction, and inventory throughput using Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

- Influence DC design and facility layout to maximize flow efficiency, quality inspection capability, reverse logistics/RMA processing and ergonomic, safety first operations.

- Owner of freight and transportation budgets, contract negotiations and logistics optimization.

- Accountable for DC budgets and operational performance, ensuring disciplined cost management, productivity improvements, and adherence to standardized global operating procedures.

Technology, Innovation & Continuous Improvement

- Champion the evaluation and implementation of cutting edge logistics technologies including WMS, TMS, LMS, automated picking solutions, advanced analytics platforms, RFID/IoT solutions, and warehouse automation.

- Conduct deep process analyses and value stream assessments to design and deliver scalable, high value logistics capabilities for complex, multi site deployments.

- Lead full lifecycle implementations of logistics software and digital tools—from requirements definition and solution design to testing, deployment, change management, and global rollout governance.

Cross-Functional Alignment & Enterprise Collaboration

- Partner across IT, operations, procurement, commercial teams, and external suppliers/3PLs to resolve cross functional issues and implement enterprise wide logistics initiatives that improve end to end performance.

- Shape and refine in flight logistics solutions, providing strategic direction to ensure they integrate seamlessly with upstream and downstream supply chain processes.

- Maintain a holistic enterprise view of how logistics enables business performance, collaborating across organizational boundaries to deliver synchronized supply chain outcomes.

Financial Leadership & Cost Management

- Drive P&L cost out through material flow optimization, freight cost reduction, labor productivity gains, and overhead efficiency initiatives.

- Develop comprehensive cost improvement roadmaps rooted in methodologies in collaboration with supply chain and vendor management teams—such as demand planning alignment, transportation mode optimization, network rationalization, and inventory reduction strategies.

- Provide executive level dashboards, analytics, and reporting to ensure transparency, traceability, and data driven decision making.

What will help you thrive in this role?

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Computer Science, or related field required; Master’s in Supply Chain, MBA, or Engineering strongly preferred.

- 10-15+ years of progressive leadership experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations, including multi site or global network responsibility.

- Demonstrated success leading large-scale distribution center operations, including inbound, outbound, cross docking, value added services, and reverse logistics.

- Strong background in supply chain and logistics technologies, big‑data driven solutions, and process improvement.

- Proven track record overseeing WMS/TMS/LMS/ERP platforms, with hands on experience in system optimization, integrations, or warehouse automation (AMRs, conveyors, AS/RS, robotics, RFID, IoT). Blue yonder experience is a plus.

- Deep knowledge of distribution center workflows, capacity planning, slotting optimization, warehouse layout design, labor management, and throughput improvement.

- Strong influencing skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work cross‑functionally on sensitive topics.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to executive audiences.

- Ability to travel up to 60% domesticall (with potential for some international travel)
