About The Role

Schlam is seeking a proven

Vice President - Manufacturing

to take ownership of our North American operations and drive them into the next phase of growth.

For the first 12 months, the role will be primarily based

in Monterrey, Mexico

, where the focus will be on ramping up our new facility. This includes working closely with our contract partners to ensure safe delivery of products at the required volumes, on time and to the highest quality standards, while stabilizing operations across the Americas. Once this critical establishment phase is complete, the position will transition to a permanent base in

Dallas, USA

, overseeing Schlam’s North American manufacturing operations as part of our global network.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll shape the foundation of Schlam’s future in the Americas by:

- Establishing and ramping up our new Monterrey facility - overseeing the transition from start-up to steady-state production, creating a benchmark site for safety, efficiency and innovation.

- Leading multi-site steel fabrication plants - driving safety, throughput and quality through disciplined operational leadership and Lean manufacturing practices.

- Delivering capital projects and technology upgrades - from automation integration to facility expansions, ensuring the region can scale in line with Schlam’s global growth trajectory.

- Building and empowering teams - attracting, developing and retaining high-performing talent across the U.S. and Mexico, while fostering a culture of engagement, accountability and continuous improvement.

- Aligning regional operations with global strategy - balancing local execution with Schlam’s international standards, ensuring North America contributes as a world-class, cost-efficient hub.

About You

We’re seeking a leader who can combine strategic vision with hands-on execution. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (Lean certification highly valued).

- 10+ years’ senior leadership experience in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing, ideally with exposure to large, complex welded structures.

- A proven track record of multi-site operational leadership, delivering results in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

- Deep knowledge of steel processing, welding, fabrication and Lean systems, with a history of implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

- Cross-cultural leadership experience, with the ability to navigate U.S.-Mexico operations; Spanish proficiency is highly regarded.

- A leadership style that is authentic, collaborative, commercially astute and resilient under pressure, with a strong focus on people and performance.
