At C & D Vegetation / Hodge Vegetation Control, we specialize in professional vegetation management services for utility, oil & gas, industrial, and infrastructure projects across Alberta. We are seeking an experienced Vegetation / Reclamation Lead to oversee field operations, lead crews, and ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for managing herbicide application programs, vegetation control projects, reclamation work, utility right-of-way maintenance, and industrial site vegetation management. You will play a key role in maintaining client relationships, ensuring environmental compliance, and supporting long-term land sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise crews responsible for herbicide application, vegetation control, reclamation, mowing, brush control, and industrial site maintenance

- Oversee utility right-of-way vegetation management, pipeline corridors, lease roads, compressor stations, and facility yard maintenance

- Develop and implement vegetation management plans based on site conditions, environmental requirements, and client objectives

- Conduct site assessments to determine vegetation type, treatment recommendations, hazard tree concerns, and long-term maintenance strategies

- Coordinate selective and non-selective herbicide programs for industrial, utility, and oil & gas clients

- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental regulations, company standards, and client expectations

- Maintain accurate herbicide records, project documentation, compliance reports, and operational updates

- Act as a liaison between landowners, clients, contractors, and internal crews to support project success

- Monitor equipment usage, site safety, and team performance while maintaining a strong safety-first culture

Qualifications & Experience

- Proven leadership experience in vegetation management, herbicide application, reclamation, forestry, or industrial field operations

- Strong background in utility vegetation management, industrial spraying, right-of-way maintenance, or land reclamation

- Experience with herbicide application programs, brush control, selective and non-selective vegetation control

- Knowledge of Alberta vegetation management standards, environmental compliance, and reclamation practices

- Experience working in utility, oil & gas, pipeline, forestry, or industrial environments is strongly preferred

- Strong understanding of safety procedures, hazard assessments, and field operations management

- Ability to lead crews, manage multiple projects, and maintain high-quality standards under changing field conditions

- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required

- Applicator License, First Aid, H2S Alive, CSTS, or other industry certifications are considered strong assets

Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 65 per week
