Description

Utility Worker Street Repair reports to Foreman. Repair street, cuts and set

underground residential distribution transformers and transformer vaults.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Locate and raise valves; set out cones. Fill in street

cuts and sunken yard services; remove/replace sod. Grade, set forms and

concrete curbs, gutters, slabs and sidewalks. Build fences around regulators, set

and paint guard posts around gas meters; construct pole bridges on right-of ways.

Maintain gas transmission right-of -way markers. Repair or replace drain

or sewer pipe broken during construction. Operate Division vehicles. Perform

other duties as directed.

EDUCATION

Qualifications

EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED required and successfully complete Physical

Ability/Fit for Duty Testing OR complete Placement/Performance Exercises and

Physical Ability/Fit for Duty Testing.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence. Must obtain a valid

Class A commercial driver’s license from state of residence within trial or

probationary period after entering classification. Must successfully complete

Physical Ability/Fit for Duty Testing or complete Placement/Performance

Exercises and Physical Ability/Fit for Duty Testing. Physical Demands: Work

outside. Subject to the hazards of working in the proximity of traffic and

construction work. Standing/walking for extended periods, climbing ladders,

working in uncomfortable positions and subject to inclement weather, noise, dirt,

dust and fumes. Requires heavy lifting/carrying up to 100lbs.
