Utility Line Locator / Utility Rep

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Utility Line Locator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately locating and marking underground utility lines to ensure safe excavation and construction practices. You will work closely with construction teams, providing essential information that helps prevent damage to utilities and ensures compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

- Conduct utility locating surveys using specialized equipment to identify underground utilities.

- Interpret blueprints and site plans to determine the location of utilities.

- Mark utility lines clearly and accurately on the ground using appropriate signage and paint.

- Collaborate with field service teams to coordinate excavation activities safely.

- Maintain accurate records of utility locations and survey results.

- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols while working in the field.

- Provide support as a service technician for any utility-related issues that arise.

- Oversee all foreign utility crossings or excavation near marked utilities. This includes overseeing hydrovac, boring and digging.

Qualifications

- Experience in utility locating is preferred, with a strong understanding of underground utility systems.

- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.

- Familiarity with field service operations and construction site protocols.

- Knowledge of land surveying principles is beneficial.

- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various outdoor environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
