We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Tubing Inspector or trainee to join our inspection team supporting oil & gas operations. This role is responsible for inspecting oilwell tubing strings to identify defects that impact safety, integrity, and serviceability. The successful candidate will work in a field-based environment and play a critical role in ensuring customer assets meet applicable industry standards and specifications.
This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in remote locations while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Conduct detailed inspections of oilwell tubing strings to identify defects such as corrosion, wall loss, cracks, mechanical damage, and other integrity concerns
Operate inspection equipment and follow established inspection procedures and quality standards
Accurately document inspection results and prepare clear, complete inspection reports
Identify non-conforming material and communicate findings to supervisors and customers
Ensure all inspection activities comply with company procedures, client requirements, and industry standards
Maintain inspection equipment and ensure it is used safely and correctly
Follow all site-specific safety rules, policies, and drug and alcohol requirements
Work closely with operations personnel, supervisors, and clients to support inspection activities
This role requires working in a remote camp environment in Wabasca, Alberta, on 7-day rotations. Candidates must be able to work extended hours in industrial conditions and adapt to changing field environments.
Experience inspecting oilfield tubulars or related oil & gas inspection experience preferred
Strong ability to identify and accurately record defects in tubing strings
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
Comfortable working in remote locations and camp environments
Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Relevant inspection or safety certifications are considered an asset
