Truck Loader/Driver/ Shipping Assistant

Job Description: We are a steel fabrication company and we are looking to hire a Shipping Helper/Driver for our Shipping Department. This person will be responsible for moving large pieces of fabricated metal. Movement will be done by hand and forklift to load, unload, or stack metal pieces. As well as driving and transporting loads locally in a large truck (14 to 24 feet long).

Regular work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Employee should be able to work a flexible schedule for work days starting earlier or ending later, possibly by 1-2 hours, maybe once or twice a week, as needed and will receive paid overtime where applicable.

Desired skills and abilities:

- Must be at least 25 years old with at least 3 years of driving experience with driving larger vehicles (about 24 feet in length)

- Able to speak, write and read English

- Must understand the logical sequence as to how to stack large pieces of fabricated metal into a semi-truck, flat bed truck, pallet, shipping container, etc.

- Knows basic computer skills (how to print, use Excel, navigate computer file folders, etc.)

- Able to lift 100 lbs. regularly outside for several hours at a time (with periodic breaks allowed)

- Able to work in the Texas heat and cold

- Must have a clean driving record

- Must have a valid regular drivers' license

- Should be comfortable and able to safely drive larger (and sometimes heavy) trucks between 14 to 24 feet long

- Class A CDL drivers' license is a plus but not a must

Work Locations: Shipping Helper will work at both of our shop locations depending on the work being shipped. Most of the work is done at the Blue Goose shop. Must have transportation to travel between our two shops.

Blue Goose shop: 8000 Blue Goose Road, Manor, TX 78653 (located on the border

of Austin and Manor.)

Compensation: The qualified applicant will start at $18 with room for growth.
