Transmission Maintenance Supervisor

Southern Illinois Power Cooperative (SIPC), a generation and transmission electric cooperative based in Southern Illinois, is looking to hire a Transmission Maintenance Supervisor. The position is located south of Marion, Illinois, near Lake of Egypt.

Salary Range: $85k to $115k

Position Qualifications and Requirements:

- Previous experience with electrical utilities and transmission line construction.

- Previous experience with right-of-way maintenance is preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Possess or able to acquire an Illinois Herbicide Applicator License.

- Acquisition of an Illinois Notary Public.

- Willingness to attend continuing education courses, complete certifications, and participate in meetings and training sessions, both online and out-of-town, as needed.

- General computer skills (spreadsheets, email, etc.).

- Some work outside of typical working hours may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Management of transmission line contractors inclusive of managing daily work schedules and performing quality control.

- Management of vegetation management contractors inclusive of managing daily work schedules and performing quality control.

- Communication with property owners associated with SIPC’s transmission system.

- Preparation of transmission system switching orders for construction and maintenance.

- Management of inventory (charge out, returns, annual inventory count, etc.).

- Maintaining inventory stock by requesting quotations and preparing purchase orders.

- Provisioning of materials/hardware for both line construction and maintenance projects.

- Bi-annual air patrol of transmission system.

- Assistance in soliciting transmission line and vegetation management contracts.
