This position is responsible for performing service and repair work on generators, switchgear, and related electrical equipment. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues to ensure reliable operation. The position also requires completing detailed service reports to document work performed, findings, and recommendations for ongoing maintenance or repairs.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and service equipment (generators, diesel and/or gas engines, transfer switches, switch gear, and etc.) using proper tools and procedures
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently; work orders, service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts
- Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met
- Complete all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner
- Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
- Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in work area
- Mentors junior members of the team.
- High School or GED
- Certification in Diesel Technology
- Advanced knowledge of complex engines/generator/etc
- 12+ years of customer service experience - 12+ years of experience in an engine shop environment - 3+ years of supervisory experience- Proficiency with relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, design tools, coding languages)
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
