We are hiring a

full-time, permanent Systems Analyst,

Testing

position working out of

Edmonton, AB.

As the Systems Analyst, Testing, you play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our business systems. You’ll work closely with developers, business analysts, and end-users to validate functionality, uncover defects, and drive meaningful improvements across systems. In this role, you’re accountable to the Manager, BIBA

,

CIC

and Testing, and you’ll be part of both Operational and Project Teams, typically working on initiatives with completion timelines of up to three months. Your collaboration and attention to detail directly contribute to building systems that our organization can trust and rely on.

What you’d be responsible for

- Developing comprehensive test plans that include approach, scope, resources, schedule, required activities, and success criteria based on requirements and system specifications.

- Creating detailed test cases that consider scenarios, edge cases, expected results, and acceptance criteria, while ensuring coverage of functional, non-functional, and regression testing aspects.

- Collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize testing efforts.

- Executing test cases manually or using automated testing tools

.

- Identifying and documenting defects, working closely with development teams to resolve issues.

- Exploring opportunities for test automation, implementing automated test scripts, and maintaining or enhancing existing automation frameworks.

- Setting up and maintaining test environments (including data setup) to simulate real-world scenarios

.

- Conducting regression testing during system upgrades, enhancements, or patches.

- Assisting end-users during User Acceptance Testing by providing guidance and addressing queries.

- Documenting test results, defects, and deviations from expected behavior, providing clear reports to project teams and management, and maintaining test artifacts for audit purposes.

- Ensuring delivery of optimal results against performance metrics, including accuracy of testing effort estimates and customer satisfaction survey results.

What’s required to be successful

Qualifications, experience and

behaviours

you possess are:

- Completion of a Degree

in

Computer Science

(

or a related field

)

from a recognized

post-secondary educational institute.

- Computer Engineering/ System Technology Diploma

will be taken into consideration.

- 4-6 years of directly related experience with IS applications

.

- Extensive experience with large, complex and mission critical applications with multiple interfaces.

- Experience gathering and understanding business requirements from peers and documenti

ng.

- Experience with test data management tools

.

- Understanding and troubleshooting of all interfaces in the systems we support

.

- Ability to diagnose and solve complex technical problems with testing tools, identifying root causes, setting up and configuring tools, and providing recommendations to leadership.

- Ability to translate business needs into effective testing strategies by designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test cases that cover various business processes.

- F

amiliarity or certification

in

Agile/

Scrum

- Experience in utility billing system

would be an asset

- Experience with SAP modules

such as S4

/HANA

, Customer Relationship Management (

CRM)

Solution Manager and Test Suite

would be

preferred

.

- Basic scripting or coding skills; entry-level proficiency in

Advanced Business Application Programming (

ABAP

)

would be preferred.

- Knowledge of business processes specific to SAP modules, utilities (IS-U), finance (

Financial Accounting - FI

/

SAP Controlling - CO

), or customer service

would be preferred.

- Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager and Test Suite and/or

Worksoft

will be

considered an asset.
