SURVEYOR
Nhwelmen Construction is currently recruiting a skilled Mine Technician Surveyor to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in supporting mining and heavy civil construction operations by providing precise survey data and layout to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
•Maintain accurate as-built models of construction activities
•Read and interpret drawings, plans and diagrams to perform required work
•Assist construction crew with staking and layout
•Double check grades and help Shifter and Operators make sure quality is met
•Follow equipment/tool maintenance schedules and report repair needs promptly
•Actively participate in safety meetings, tailgates, and project related discussions
•Complete daily field reports and accurately document survey results and observations
•Complete daily online reporting using app-based programs
•Assist with month end survey reconciliation work and ensure accurate records are maintained
•Provide field control surveys to Mine Operations and upload data daily
•Communicate proactively with Project Manager, Mine Superintendent, Shift Leads, and Operators
•Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to specified grades and tolerances
•Conduct equipment and tool inspections in accordance the health and safety procedures
•Operate a wide range of survey equipment and software including but not limited to: Aerial Drones, Total Station, Laser levels, Transits, Tripods, Grade Rods, Hand levels, stakes, paint, and tape to establish and mark property boundaries, elevations, and grades
•Perform other duties as assigned to support the Management team
Qualifications:
•Diploma, degree, or certification in Mine Technology, Engineering or a related field (EIT, Mine Tech preferred)
•Experience in open pit and/or underground mining environments
•Proficiency with survey technologies and software including GPS, GIS, AutoCAD, Survey (Topcon, Trimble) and MS Office
•Strong blueprint and drawing interpretation skills
•Excellent organizational and time management abilities
•Clear written and verbal communication skills
•Professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
•Ability to complete online orientations and digital training requirements as needed
•Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract and access to reliable transportation
Location: This position is based out of the Kamloops / Thompson area of British Columbia. This is not a camp position; employees provide their own transportation to/from the job site.
