•Manage all surveyors and corresponding work flows
+ Track survey progress (e.g. via survey tracker, etc.) to ensure each mine surveyor is staying caught up and up to date
+ Complete field work as required, assisting surveyors.
+ Work with each surveyor routinely to ensure proper surveying procedures, and make corrections as necessary.
+ Ensure surveyors are following policies, conducting workplace inspections, RIMs, and other safety measurable
+ Implement and drive surveying standards, surveying best practices, etc.
+ Become a back-up surveyor for vacations, etc.
+ Manage training, professional development, etc.
+ Coordinate and manage updates to survey maps with updated property and/or lease agreements (e.g. communities)
+ Produce as-builts routinely (e.g. CAD tech.) for providing assistance on drawings, designs, etc. as needed, and ensuring surveying maps are up to date, both 2D and 3D as-builts
+ Manage surveying files and data, and implement best practices
+ Conduct void scans for long hole stoping with each mine surveyor as required for each mine
+ Manage field notes as required
+ Work with each surveyor to ensure weekly Cap. Dev. progression is captured and reported to each Mine Engineer accordingly
•Work with Geology department to best establish survey control and getting information to geology for face mapping
•Manage all surveying equipment (re-calibration, cleaning, etc.) and supplies as needed
+ Routinely have surveying equipment re-calibrated per manufacturer’s recommendations
+ Order daily supplies (paint, etc.) for surveyors
•Assist in training of Operations (supervisors, operators, etc.) on reading maps, using scales, utilizing cut sheets, etc.
•Implement standard for mapping utilities and other infrastructure to keep updated on Working Survey Maps
•Routinely inspect development headings at each mine, ensuring plans are adhered to (e.g. proper laser installation, proper line and grade, etc.). Report discrepancies to Engineering, Operations, and respective mine surveyor accordingly
•Stay up to date on current surveying best practices, evaluating new methods, instrumentation, tools, etc. to complete surveying work safely and efficiently
•Track Monthly Cap. Dev. Progression for each mine in conjunction with each Mine Engineer, and tracking overbreak accordingly
•Establish database and management for tracking plan vs. actual for ore and waste overbreak
•Manage special projects, contractors (surveying) as needed
•Implement 3D scanning capabilities – including demoing, purchasing, implementation, training for equipment and software, etc.
+ Implement prisms for advancing survey control to transition to 3D Scanning capabilities
•Work with Engineering on Mapping Standards, and following up to ensure designs are up to date, standardized, and completed as necessary for each mine
•Produce as-builts routinely (e.g. CAD tech.) for providing assistance on drawings, designs, etc. as needed, and ensuring surveying maps are up to date, both 2D and 3D as-builts
•Manage surveying files and data, and implement best practices
•Manage Survey Control, both surface and underground – start running survey closure throughout underground, carrying known surface control underground (e.g. via surface shafts, etc.)
•Establish Survey Monuments underground and surface as necessary for known, permanent locations
•Assist Project Department with managing contractors, projects, etc. as needed

- Assisting w/ SAP such as service entries, accruals, etc.
- Tracking time and materials
- Assist w/ tracking contractor hours
- Assist w/ tracking project materials
