GENERAL SUMMARY

Perform as team member on supplier audits and commercial grade surveys, to support the procurement of products and services that affect safety-related or augmented quality functions at Columbia Generating Station.

Perform quality control receiving inspections of purchased equipment, parts, and materials to verify compliance with the stations quality assurance program, purchasing documents, Codes, standards and regulatory requirements for acceptance and use. Support receiving inspection during scheduled outages, unplanned plant outages and call-outs.

Perform independent supplier surveillance activities to support the procurement of products and services that affect safety-related or augmented quality. Conduct supplier surveillances as required by station request and Vendor Inspection Plans (VIPs) for critical plant equipment and services.

The person in this position will interface with Supply Chain Services, Procurement Engineering and suppliers. This position is required by regulation and is necessary to ensure safety-related items and services procured meet applicable quality requirements and are not degraded at the time of receipt.

Travel for this position is approximately 25% annually.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Be a team member on performance-based supplier audits and commercial grade surveys to support the procurement of safety-related and augmented quality products and services.

Perform annual evaluations of supplier’s performance, unacceptable trends, deficiencies, and any other changes that would affect the supplier’s qualification status on the Evaluated Suppliers List (ESL). Provide input to other utilities for inclusion in industry audits of supplier’s performance, receiving history, corrective actions, unacceptable trend or other identified issues.

Perform receiving inspection for compliance with purchase document requirements. Using inspection tools, drawings, inspection procedures, and prior knowledge of fabrication methods to evaluate acceptance. Based on the inspection acceptance/rejection criteria be able to identify deficiencies, discrepancies and nonconformance when present in systems, structures, assemblies, or parts and provide written description of the issue that is contrary to the requirement. Interpretate and provide judgement on acceptance/rejection of an item based on training, experience, and a review of the work against the written requirements.

Travel to and conduct supplier surveillances at their facilities, witness manufacturing activities and submit reports detailing the activities witnessed. Ensure vendor performance aligns with agreed-upon service levels and quality standards. Identify and address potential risks or issues to compliance with legal, quality or regulatory requirements. This could include witnessing installations or repairs of equipment, installation of structures, systems, or associated components to verify conformance to specified requirements. Analyze data from surveillances and observations of work activities and documentation to submit reports to management for review and action. Maintain files, charts, and status reports on progress of inspections and documentation. Assemble pertinent information and materials necessary to effectively accomplish planning, scheduling, inspections, and reporting of surveillance results.

Maintain department procedures, manuals, instructions, and personnel certifications current.

As necessary support Quality Control Receiving, outage and call-out duties, to support station needs.


Perform other duties as requested.

Must participate on the Emergency Response Team (ERO) when designated.


Must support the biennial refueling outage.

Must provide support to the OCC and EOC.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Receipt Inspector Level II - the following minimum education and experience requirements shall be met for qualification in each category as specified in ANSI N45.2.6-1978 and Regulatory Guide 1.58, Rev. 1, September 1980:

One year of satisfactory performance as Level I in corresponding inspection, examination, test category, or class OR at least one of the following:

High school diploma or GED AND three years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities OR

An Associate’s degree in related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university AND one year of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities OR

A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university AND six months of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities.

Certified Lead Auditor (ANSI N45.2.23) – the following minimum education and experience requirements shall be met for qualification or have the ability to certify within one year in the position as defined in QAP-ASU-04.

A High School diploma/GED AND nine years of progressive experience in quality assurance, engineering, manufacturing, construction, operation, maintenance, or another technical role.

An Associate’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university AND seven years of progressive experience in quality assurance, engineering, manufacturing, construction, operation, maintenance, or another technical role.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university AND five years of combined experience in nuclear, quality assurance, engineering, manufacturing, construction, operation, maintenance, or another technical role.


Pay Range


$106,670.00 - $160,006.00 Annual


Midpoint:


$133,338.00

Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.


Incentive Compensation

This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
