Washington Gas is seeking a
Supervisor, Plant Operations. You will be responsible for all maintenance, operations, plant reliability and productivity, construction, safety, compliance, budget management, scheduling, personnel issues and relations for WGL's Propane-Air Peak Shaving Plants. You may be required to serve as the 24 hour on call supervisory, as needed.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for training, managing performance, coaching/motivating, and facilitating access to developmental opportunities for direct reports.
- Implement and document all regulatory required inspections and testing.
- Coordinate with WFM maintenance planning/scheduling and responsible for capital project management.
- Write, revise and communicate operating and maintenance procedures.
- Implement new company policies and initiatives, assists with preparing and reviewing budgets.
- Manage personnel issues and identifies and provides training for employees and initiates special projects as needed.
- Coordinate with other Washington Gas personnel to deliver peaking or storage gas as needed.
- Interact with external audiences to interpret guidelines and procedures and/or to resolve daily problems associated with the plant’s operations, programs, systems and services.
- Assist with preparation, development and execution of long range goals and plans to preserve critical assets, optimize operations and improve cost structure.
- Communicate and collaborate with employees and other business units of Washington Gas to ensure effective dissemination of information and to obtain services needed to establish and continuously improve systems, policies and processes to guarantee efficient and profitable operations.
- Ensure all required training and testing, including OQ, is performed and documented as required.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- 5+ Years work experience in the natural gas, propane, utility, plants, or related industries is required.- Maryland Boiler operator’s license or P.E. License (DC, MD, or VA) is preferred.
- Knowledge of operations, maintenance, design and construction of peak shaving plants including natural gas and propane storage facilities.
- Working knowledge of gas distribution systems, including SCADA, instrumentation and operations, and federal, state and local regulations, and PSM.
- Demonstrated ability to proficiently operate information technology for process control and managing data for business decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate business agreements and to resolve disputes with business partners.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and analyze multiple scenarios in solving business problems.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex messages to diverse audiences at all organization levels.
We offer a competitive salary range of $102,000 to $148,500 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
