Description:
Under supervision of the Plant Manager, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the daily production of the plant personnel (Production, Shipping and Receiving, and Maintenance departments) in their facility. The position is accountable for the safety, as well as quality and productivity standards of their plant.

The Plant Supervisor must:
•Prioritize production projects and allocate manpower accordingly. This includes reassigning team members to new projects as need arises and production requirements change during their shift.
•Troubleshoot any equipment issues that cause work stoppages with the Maintenance team.
•Continuously work to mentor their Production Technicians and leadership team. This involves leading by example in all areas while providing guidance and training as needed.
•Along with the Plant Manager, develop practical work schedules for plant personnel that allow the plant to meet customer order requirements.
•Facilitate interdepartmental communication with Customer Service, Purchasing, and the Laboratory.
•Report daily production levels, project progress, and any issues to the Plant Manager.
•Address disciplinary issues directly with their direct-reports. This involves consistently following through with holding their team accountable and implementing corrective actions.
•Direct and oversee the daily activities of the Maintenance team.
•Monitor critical raw material levels, communicating with the Production Scheduler and Purchasing department to ensure that the plant’s internal supply chain remains uninterrupted.
•Assist the Production Scheduler and Shipping/Receiving personnel with periodic cycle-counting processes.
•Oversee the general organization and cleanliness of the work area, addressing any deficiencies with the appropriate Production Lead or Team Lead.
•Complete any additional tasks and projects assigned to them by their Plant Manager.
•Identify safety concerns and work directly with EHS to implement solutions.
•Anticipate and prepare for upcoming projects and processes. This involves overseeing equipment changeovers, new equipment design and installation, process hazard analyses and peer reviews.
•Constantly work to recognize opportunities for improvement and implement related changes with regard to process efficiency.
•Have an exhaustive knowledge of the process equipment in their facility in order to effectively allocate the correct resources to blending projects.
•Exhibit a firm understanding of the importance of quality and hygiene practices relating to cGMP standards. The employee must strictly adhere to work instructions in all operations.
