Department Overview

The Hydro Support team provides a broad range of land management and real estate support to Power Generation's Hydro Operations staff. The Hydro Support team is a part of the Land Management (LM) organization and is responsible for the oversight and management of PG&E hydro watershed lands. Team members have experience in land conservation and commercial real estate transactions, conservation easement stewardship, surveying, biology, land rights, land planning, project management, and habitat restoration. We support Power Generation and Hydro Maintenance by communicating with landowners and ensuring we have adequate land rights for Hydro Projects. We manage third party uses of PG&E's hydro watershed lands, including leases and licenses. We also monitor the lands for trespass and encroachments and act to protect the company's land rights on these lands. We support the Environmental Management Energy Supply to ensure that FERC license requirements are met and maintained.

Position Summary

This position reports to the senior manager of Hydro Support and will supervise a team of ESC-represented Land Agents and Senior Land Agents responsible for a wide range of land rights matters including, but not limited to, negotiating agreements with the third parties for use of PG&E land, reviewing land rights and title issues, managing of PG&E fee properties, completion of annual lease/license inspections and resolution of issues identified during the inspections, and maintaining current insurance collection and verification. This role is accountable for establishing a working environment that fosters safety, engagement, continuous learning, innovation, open honest communication, critical thinking, creative problem solving, efficiency, accountability, and collegiality. The position also requires the ability to prioritize, plan and report progress on Land Agent daily work and assist the Hydro Support Senior Manager in long-term resource and strategic planning. The Supervisor is responsible for driving employee understanding of client business model and utility business model and ensuring active participation in risk management, including risk reduction. The Supervisor will be responsible for team members performing their jobs in accordance with PG&E’s vision, mission, and values.

The preferred location for this position is Chico

Travel: Approximately 30% to team offices, project sites, and business partner offices.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A Reasonable Salary Range:

California - $122,000 to $180,400

Job Responsibilities

- Responsible for administrative duties such as performance management, budgeting, workload scheduling, ensuring policies and procedures are followed, including risk procedures, and contractor management procedures.

- Provide leadership for assigned staff and inspires teamwork across the organization to connect staff to other experts in the organization; and act as a staff advocate.

- Develop workload forecasts, staffing plans, and project assignments and work with other stake holders to assign staff to projects in a way to meet LOB needs and professional development needs.

- Provide consistency in decision making among the various offices regarding approaches and solutions to problems; work with the Manager and other Land Rights Supervisors to build and/or implement common templates, tools, and procedures to assist their staff in their work.

- Ensures processes are in place for timely and consistent responses to regulatory and other stakeholder inquiries.


Qualifications

Minimum:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, environmental resources, natural resource management, project management, or related field required

- 8 years of experience or a combination of experience in the following: managing real estate, handling land or land rights issues, managing projects, writing contracts and CWAs, working at a resource agency, supervising direct reports, or managing teams

- Must possess a valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain by first day of employment


Desired:

- Land Surveyor (LS), Civil Engineer, American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), MBA, real estate license or equivalent certifications

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated good judgment in arriving at decisions and recommendations

- Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations, county regulations, and internal standard practices related to land management

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Ability to work well with governmental agencies and landowners

- Ability to make effective presentations

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Ability to work in a team environment with focus in diversity and inclusion

- Demonstrated excellence in customer service

- Knowledge of bargaining unit processes and procedures
