The Pinery Water and Wastewater District is seeking a Water Utility Worker to assist in the operation and maintenance of the water distribution system and our district facilities. The District is a water and wastewater service provider located in eastern Douglas County dedicated to providing “Quality Water for LIFE” to nearly 15,000 customers in the Pinery community of Parker, Colorado.
Compensation depends upon qualifications; starting pay is targeted between $26.00 and $32.00 per hour. In addition, the Pinery Water and Wastewater District offers a comprehensive benefits package to include a generous retirement saving plan where full-time employees are immediately eligible for a 9% employee contribution with a 10% employer match. General job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performs laborer type functions. May assist other departments or job classifications with any task requiring help
- Assists with locates, hydrant maintenance, flushing of hydrants, water quality sampling, chemical handling & inventory, grounds maintenance and customer service requests
- Performs data entry and record keeping as assigned
- May respond to after-hours calls for services including line breaks and other water related emergencies
- Operates facility maintenance equipment safely to maintain District facilities both inside as well as outside

- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Must hold valid Colorado Driver’s License with acceptable motor vehicle record
- Must satisfactorily pass criminal background check and drug screening prior to commencement of employment
- Some water or wastewater experience preferred but not necessary
- While performing work, you may be exposed to dust, noise, traffic and moving construction equipment, irritants, dirt, bacteria, hazardous chemicals/air/materials and fumes
- Works indoors in an office environment and outdoors in all weather conditions and over all types of terrains; may be exposed to risks typically associated with working around water, chemicals, electricity and other man-made hazards
- Full range of body movements including stooping, twisting, kneeling, bending, leaning, reaching, climbing, stretching, and working in awkward positions; may stand for extended periods of time
- Vision is needed for reading, computer work, recording and interpreting information such as construction and facility plans; speech and hearing are used to communicate with other employees over the telephone, radio or in person
