Job Summary for Tank Welder Superintendent

We are hiring an experienced Tank Welder Superintendent to oversee Above Ground Storage Tank (AST) projects nationwide. This full-time role involves managing field welders, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high-quality standards on large-scale industrial construction projects.

Responsibilities for Tank Welder Superintendent

•

Supervise and lead 5–10 welders on active construction sites.

•

Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to specification.

•

Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers.

•

Support project planning, scheduling, and estimating.

•

Maintain compliance with OSHA, company safety standards, and QA/QC protocols.

Requirements for Tank Welder Superintendent

•

Experience: 7+ years in AST construction (new builds, maintenance, and demo).

•

Leadership: 3+ years as a foreman and prior superintendent experience.

•

Certifications: TWIC card required.

•

Testing: Must pass FCAW and SMAW weld tests (carbon steel & 9% nickel plate).

•

Standards: Maintain a 95–100% pass rate on weld X-ray/visual inspections.

•

Skills: Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with API 653 a plus.

•

Safety: Strong knowledge of OSHA and refinery safety practices.

Compensation & Benefits for Tank Welder Superintendent

Pay: $45–$50/hour (DOE)

•

Per Diem: $100+/day based on location

•

Schedule: 6–7 days/week, 10-hour shifts

•

Pay Schedule: Weekly direct deposit
